Living in Charlotte, NC

Situated in the middle of North Carolina at the southern edge, Charlotte has both southern charm and a booming economy. One of the best things about Charlotte is that it is centrally located - just 4 hrs to Atlanta, 3 hrs to the mountains, 6 hrs to Washington, DC, 3.5 hrs to the beach and 8 hrs to DisneyWorld.

There are numerous Fortune 500 companies in Charlotte, as well as many smaller and diverse companies. There are several large "homegrown" companies such as grocer Harris Teeter and Family Dollar to name a couple.

There is lots to do and see in Charlotte - numerous museums - such as the Mint Museum, Levine Museum of the New South (a great museum to visit to see how Charlotte came about), and The Charlotte Museum of History to name but a few.

Home to University of North Carolina Charlotte, Johnson C. Smith University, Queens College, Johnson and Wales. Several large shopping malls include Carolina Place Mall, SouthPark Mall and Northlake Mall.

Experience our great Libraries (everyone loves a good book, one of the best libraries in South Charlotte is the South Charlotte Regional Library), YMCA's (check out the Brace Family Y or Harris Y - some of the best Y's in the country, hands down), Carowinds (the best amusement park around), Mecklenburg Parks (Colonel Francis Beatty Park with its lake, biking trails, ball fields, and tennis courts is definitely a must see), and more.

Charlotte has something for everyone!
